Dr Goodluck Urassa is the founder and chairman of EFL. Dr Urassa has substantial experience in microfinance and providing business development services to entrepreneurs and enterprises. He works as a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam where he teaches a number of microfinance courses on Client Recruitment and Training, Marketing of Microfinance Services, Loan Appraisal and Delinquency Management as well as Resource Mobilization for MFIs.
Dr Urassa has been a consultant for a number of organizations offering microfinance services, including the Promotion of Rural Initiative and Development Enterprises, Better Life for Tanzanians (BELITA), CRDB Bank, African Microfinance National Bank of Commerce (NBC) and National Microfinance Bank (NMB). Some of the tasks undertaken by him were designing credit operations manuals, developing business plans, training staff and research and product development. He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship, a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing. He is a Board member of the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED) and the Chairman of Mbagala Secondary School. Before establishing EFL, he was a Board member of BELITA, one of the fastest growing MFIs in Tanzania.
