How We Started 

Enterprise Finance Ltd (EFL) was founded by Tanzanians dedicated to boost the financial inclusion of the people by developing demand-driven financial products and solutions.  After a long process of studying the fiscal market and developing our strategic intent, EFL was incorporated in 2010 under the Companies Act to provide financial services to enterprises and individuals, with its operations in Dar es Salaam and Arusha.  Notwithstanding the complexities of the business, several challenges, disappointments and surprises that we underwent at the beginning, we were still able to break through. This is mainly due to the incredible support of our clients, staff, management, the Board and all our stakeholders. Indeed, the challenges our company has faced became the stepping stones to our future.  Our past experiences and lessons learnt gave us the momentum to innovate and develop new solutions and strategies to improve our services.

Our Humble Beginnings

The path we traversed…

  • 2010

    Start Small

    This was the time when we started small but with a great ambition to grow. What drove us to start the Company was the understanding that we could provide much better services than most financiers in the country. Our strategy was to meet the needs of our clients better than competitors, and this has always been there.

  • 2011

    First Employee and Set-up of the Office

    The first excitement EFL felt was to employ our first Loan Officer and to set-up the first office. As we were growing quite fast, we needed to have our own office and develop our team with the culture and attitude we wanted to see.

  • 2015

    Fifth Year Anniversary

    By then, we were already a well-known brand name within the financial industry. We had already served a large number of clients and became the prominent actor in the financial sector. We had a strong Board and a team of over 20 professional staff holding the various key positions. Our fifth year anniversary was really a moment to regain our momentum.

  • 2018

    Transformational Moment

    Given our ambition to grow, we are now transforming our business model and strategies to attain the leadership position in the industry. Although we are taking a higher challenge on board than ever before, the competencies and capabilities of our team give us the confidence to think much bigger. We are yet to believe “The Sky is the Limit”.

    Implementation phase

    The company focused on executing the transformative strategies established in 2018, putting into action new business models and initiatives aimed at achieving industry leadership. This year was dedicated to assessing the initial outcomes, refining approaches based on performance data, and scaling successful initiatives. Emphasis was also placed on strengthening team capabilities, expanding market presence, and aligning strategies with customer needs and market trends to drive growth and solidify the foundation for future success.

    Human capital enhancement

    In 2020, the company prioritized enhancing its human capital by significantly expanding its workforce. This focus aimed at bolstering team capabilities and supporting the ongoing transformation. By recruiting additional employees, the company sought to bring in diverse skills and perspectives, ensuring a stronger, more dynamic team to drive innovation, execute strategies effectively, and sustain growth as it continued to advance toward its industry leadership goals.

    The company marked a significant milestone by relocating to its new headquarters at EFL House in Sinza, aligning with a long-term branding strategy. This move not only symbolized growth and the company's commitment to a robust future but also served as a cornerstone for enhancing its brand presence. The new location was designed to reflect the company's evolving identity, support its expanding operations, and reinforce its position in the industry as it continued its journey towards leadership.

    Expansion

    The company focused on expanding its service offerings by customizing product options to meet the diverse needs of various target markets.
